Susan-Marie Stedman has a Masters degree in Coastal Geology from the University of Delaware and is currently a wetland scientist with NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service, Office of Habitat Conservation. Ms. Stedman has been working as a wetland scientist in private and public arenas for over 25 years. She was one of the authors of the 1995 Federal Guidance for the Establishment, Use and Operation of Mitigation Banks, which was the precusor to the Army Corps/EPA 2008 Compensatory Mitigation Rule. She currently represents NOAA on the Interagency Coastal Wetlands Working Group and is leading NOAA’s participation in implementing the coastal wetlands pilot studies under the National Ocean Policy.
