Dr. Jones is owner of Meanders River Restoration, Inc. Meanders River Restoration is a design/build firm specializing in stream and river natural channel design. He was on the faculty at Clemson University for 18 years directing a graduate program in landscape modeling. Dr. Jones was employed by Environmental Services, Inc. for 20 years. He was Director of the Stream Restoration Division specializing in the areas of natural stream morphology restoration, wetland restoration, landscape modeling and ecological land classification. He has 42 years of experience in the disciplines of vegetation ecology, landscape ecology, soil genesis and classification, and stream and wetland restoration. Publications in professional journals total 36 and has presented over 100 papers at professional meetings including several invited papers on stream restoration and mitigation banking and ecological land classification at regional, national and international symposium. To date, he has been involved with 30 mitigation banking projects in 13 Corps of Engineers Districts. He has been involved in design, management and/or construction of over 100 stream restoration projects including the stream restoration design and construction of over 150 miles of stream channels across the United States. Dr. Jones holds a Ph.D. from Clemson University, Department of Forestry and Natural Resources and M.S. & B.S. from Southern Illinois University, School of Forestry.
