Bighorn Public Affairs Group
Washington, D.C.

Having grown up in Montana and Wyoming, Johnson began her federal service in 1991, working for U.S. Senate Assistant GOP Leader Al Simpson (R-WY). She finished her seven years of Congressional service in the office of U.S. Rep. Joel Hefley (R-CO), a senior Member of the Natural Resources and Armed Services Committees. Johnson was responsible for the issue areas of education, health care, natural resources and international relations.

Johnson’s lobbying expertise focuses on the issue areas of energy and natural resources, appropriations, municipality concerns, international relations, education, health care, transportation, and budget issues. Her clients have ranged from large corporations such as Maersk and Corning to Native American tribes and municipalities, universities, hospitals and non-profit organizations.

Johnson has extensive legislative, political campaign and political fund raising experience as she has worked on numerous campaigns and served as a professional fundraiser for various political candidates including U.S. Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY), U.S. Representative John Peterson (R-PA) and the U.S. House Western Caucus PAC. Currently, Johnson offers marketing and public relations assistance, crisis management, event planning, governmental affairs expertise, federal funding guidance, and state and federal lobbying services with Bighorn Public Affairs.

Johnson served as an adjunct professor at Utah Valley University, teaching Political Science; and she has pursued her interest in real estate development — owning a pub in NYC, an apartment building in Washington, D.C. and successfully writing and presenting a resort business plan to the Bahamian government. She recently purchased a luxury spa and salon in Spanish Fork, Utah.

Johnson’s degree in marketing and corporate management is from Florida Atlantic University. She was elected to serve two terms on the Board of Directors of the National Republican Club in Washington.
