Mr. McGill is an environmental scientist, co-founder, and CEO of Ecotone, Inc. He oversees strategic planning and operations for the company’s construction and ecosystem credit divisions. As part of Ecotone’s long term business development, Mr. McGill is intimately involved in building relationships and coalitions with environmental stakeholders to facilitate implementation of result oriented environmental restoration projects. Mr. McGill has been at the forefront of developing ecosystem credit markets within the Mid-Atlantic region to fund environmental restoration efforts, which has led to the creation of of numerous important conservation initiatives in the Mid-Atlantic region. He has served on numerous non-profit boards throughout his career including the Maryland Chapter of Trout Unlimited, the Mid-Atlantic Council of Trout Unlimited, and the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy.
Mr. McGill is a recognized expert with over 27 years of experience in the restoration of ecological systems. He has applied design-build experience in the assessment and restoration of urban and rural aquatic habitats throughout the United States. He has designed and/or supervised the construction of over 100 stream and wetland restoration projects, has extensive project management experience, and is well respected in the field of environmental resource restoration. Mr. McGill has also organized, coordinated, and taught numerous short courses and seminars on the use of sustainability and ecosystem services in stream restoration design.
